JM Collingwood Barn

Built between 1912 and 1914 by John Martin Collingwood, JM Collingwood Barn stands as a unique architectural landmark on the Kansas prairie. The structure’s distinctive Maltese Cross shape was originally designed to house Percheron workhorses, and its soaring 25-foot timber ceilings and expansive 16,000-square-foot interior remain breathtaking. After decades of dormancy, owner Brenda Pace oversaw the barn’s careful restoration in the 1980s, transforming it into an elegant event venue while preserving its historic character.

Today, JM Collingwood Barn welcomes couples and community groups for weddings, celebrations, and special events on its scenic 37-acre setting near Pretty Prairie. The venue accommodates up to 300 guests and provides flexible spaces for intimate gatherings through grand receptions.
