The Tracz Family Band Hall

The Tracz Family Band Hall at Kansas State University serves as a premier facility for the university’s comprehensive band program. The hall honors Dr. Frank Tracz, a Professor Emeritus of Music who spent 33 years leading the Wind Ensemble and Marching Band while also instructing graduate and undergraduate conducting students. Under his direction, K-State’s marching band achieved the prestigious Sudler Trophy in 2015, and the Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the International Convention of the American Bandmasters Association.

Completed in fall 2023, the modern facility provides Manhattan-area musicians with dedicated rehearsal space, storage, and resources to support both student and community performance initiatives. Dr. Tracz earned his degrees from The Ohio State University and the University of Wisconsin, bringing decades of experience as an adjudicator and clinician across North America and internationally.
