Services
The K-State Gardens at Kansas State University have served as an educational and display destination since 1875, evolving from an outdoor laboratory for students and faculty into a public horticulture garden open to the community. The gardens combine traditional botanical collections with working displays designed to showcase plant cultivation and seasonal variety. Visitors encounter carefully maintained landscapes, including All-America Selections displays and iris collections, along with spaces for quiet reflection and nature discovery.
The site operates as a free admission resource open daily from dawn to 10 p.m., supported by donations, fundraising events like the Run for the Roses, and community involvement through volunteering opportunities. Guided and self-guided tours are available year-round for those wishing to explore the gardens’ design and plant diversity.
