Industrial Wedding Venues in Kansas: A Sourced Shortlist
Industrial venues range from large restored buildings to smaller urban spaces. The three options here have explicit wedding use on their own sites: two are in downtown Wichita, and one is in downtown Lawrence. Their reported capacities and inclusions apply only as described by the venue, so confirm the plan for your event directly.
Three industrial spaces to contact
Brick & Mortar Venue — Wichita
Brick & Mortar is at 230 South Topeka Street in Wichita’s Arena District. Its site describes an industrial and historic setting with exposed brick and steel supports, multiple indoor spaces, and an 8,000-plus-square-foot covered patio. Its wedding page lists a capacity of 300 and identifies a Main Wedding Hall, Topeka Room, and Patio Tent, plus separate bridal and groom suites. See Brick & Mortar and its wedding page.
Ask which rooms and patio configuration are included for your guest count, whether the stated capacity is seated or total event attendance, bar-package terms, and the current cost for your date.
The Hudson — Wichita
The Hudson operates two Wichita spaces. Hudson Commerce, at 508 South Commerce Street, is described as industrial-chic and explicitly welcomes weddings; Hudson St. Francis, at 427 South St. Francis Street, is a smaller mid-century-modern venue with a built-in bar that the site lists for micro weddings. The site provides a tour inquiry form that requests both guest count and event date. Compare The Hudson’s two locations.
Ask which location fits your guest count, whether the outdoor garden is available with the Commerce booking, how both spaces handle ceremony and reception flow, and what is included in staffing, bar service, accessibility, and pricing.
Venue 1235 — Lawrence
Venue 1235 is a converted industrial event space in downtown Lawrence that lists weddings among its events. Its site describes 6,000 square feet of climate-controlled indoor space with exposed beams, a stated capacity of up to 300 guests with table seating, and a covered heated patio plus fenced backyard. It separately describes a larger standing-event figure, which should not be treated as a reception capacity. Visit Venue 1235.
Ask what the seated capacity is with your dance floor and service setup, whether the patio and backyard are included, the food and beverage policy, load-in access, and the current rental and cleanup terms.
Tour for the actual event flow
Industrial spaces often have several rooms, patios, and staging areas. On a tour, walk the ceremony route, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, catering setup, and guest accessibility in sequence. Ask for a floor plan and a written account of which rooms, furniture, equipment, staff, and hours are included so a large building does not become an unexpectedly fragmented rental.
