Kansas Wedding Venue Rental Rates: Lower-Cost Source-Checked Leads

By WeddingInKansas Team

“Affordable” only means something after the event hours, guest layout, food, bar, staffing, and rentals are included. The published rates below are rental figures, not complete-wedding estimates. Two are public event facilities whose pages do not say they host weddings; the third explicitly offers weddings.

Published lower-cost rental leads

Union Pacific Depot — Lawrence event facility, wedding use not stated

Lawrence lists the whole Depot at $90 per hour with a three-hour minimum, making the published minimum rental $270 before any unlisted costs. The Community Room seats 90 and holds 150 standing; the Theater Room seats 38 and holds 45 standing. Both rooms reserve together. Wi-Fi, televisions, a kitchenette, and general setup are listed, but the page does not state food, alcohol, accessibility, or wedding-use rules.

Ask: Is a wedding reception permitted, and what food, bar, cleaning, and after-hours charges apply?

Carnegie Building — Lawrence event facility, wedding use not stated

The City lists the combined Carnegie Building at $100 per hour with a three-hour minimum, or $300 at the published minimum. The Heritage Room holds 150 seated or 200 standing; the East and West Galleries are included and each lists 32 seated / 49 standing. Wi-Fi, projector equipment, and a kitchenette are listed. The city page does not establish wedding use or state catering, alcohol, and accessibility policies.

Ask: Is the price available for a wedding, and which setup, food, bar, and cleanup costs sit outside the hourly rate?

Tumblweed LLC — Salina wedding venue

Tumblweed’s venue page explicitly lists weddings and posts a $500 Chapel rental. The Chapel seats 200; the page does not say whether that is a ceremony or reception layout. Its larger Augustine room is $3,500 Friday–Sunday and includes tables, chairs, lounge access, and bar-area access. The site does not state catering, alcohol, or accessibility rules, so the posted rental does not establish a total wedding cost.

Ask: What is included with the Chapel rate, and what food, beverage, staffing, and cleaning charges are required?

Compare the actual total

Use the published number as a starting point only. Ask every venue for the exact hours, layout, required vendors, tax, deposits, and any service or cleanup fees in a written proposal. A low room rental can still cost more than a higher package once those items are added.
